PMI PgMP Certification Training

If you're a program manager, PMO lead, or senior project manager in the US working toward your PMI PgMP credential, you've probably already discovered the hard part isn't the theory. It's writing a program summary PMI's panel will actually approve, and thinking like a program manager under exam pressure instead of just recognizing terms from a textbook.

Augment Consultancy's PgMP Fast-Track Program is built around that gap. It's a live, mentor-led certification program run personally by Sanjeev Kumar — a 20+ year program and portfolio management practitioner who has trained more than 1,000 professionals worldwide, with a 98% first-attempt pass rate among candidates who complete the full program.

Time commitment: roughly 5+ hours a week across 2 weekend live-session blocks — built for people who are already working full-time in program management roles, not students with open schedules.

What's included
  • Live weekend online sessions plus one year of recording access
  • 60+ hours of structured video content, 100+ training videos, 150+ slides
  • 1,000+ exam-style practice questions with a full mock-exam simulator
  • One-on-one application review before you submit to PMI's panel
  • A personal mentor gap-assessment session
  • 24 PDUs toward your certification maintenance requirements
  • Access to a global community of certified program and portfolio managers
  • 98%First-attempt pass rate
  • 1,000+Professionals trained
  • 100+Programs conducted
  • 24PDUs included

20+ years of hands-on program and portfolio leadership behind every cohort.

Why This Program

Why US-based program managers choose this program over a self-study course

There are two common ways people prepare for the PgMP exam: a low-cost, pre-recorded video bundle they work through alone, or an expensive corporate bootcamp with no real personal access to an instructor. Augment Consultancy's Fast-Track Program was built specifically as the alternative to both — live instruction from someone who has done the job, with enough one-on-one contact to get unstuck at the two points where most candidates actually get stuck: the application, and the exam itself.

01

A mentor who has run programs, not just taught them

Sanjeev Kumar built the program around 20+ years of hands-on project, program, and portfolio management experience, holding both PMI and global credentials. When a student asks how a benefits sustainment plan holds up during an actual program governance review, the answer comes from someone who has done it, not read about it.

02

Application support that catches problems before PMI's panel does

A large share of PgMP candidates don't fail at the exam — they stall at the panel review stage because their application doesn't reflect PMI's expected language and structure. This program includes a dedicated application module plus individual review of each candidate's application before submission.

03

A study plan sized for people with full-time jobs

The Fast-Track format runs as two weekend blocks of live sessions, backed by on-demand video and a 30+ hour exam simulator, so working professionals aren't forced to choose between their job and their certification. Most candidates complete the full program in 2 to 4 months.

04

A track record built candidate by candidate

Across 100+ programs conducted and 1,000+ professionals trained, Sanjeev's students report a 98% first-attempt pass rate — the direct result of a four-stage mentoring approach (assess, teach, apply, simulate), not a one-size-fits-all curriculum.

05

A mentor who stays reachable after the live session ends

Students preparing an application or stuck on a tough exam topic can reach Sanjeev directly. Several past students specifically point to his responsiveness — one described getting last-minute mock-exam access and direct feedback with only a week left before her test date, and passing on the first try.

Meet Your Mentor

Sanjeev Kumar

Sanjeev Kumar is the founder of Augment Consultancy and the lead instructor behind its PgMP and PfMP certification programs. With 20+ years in project, program, and portfolio management, he has personally trained professionals from organizations across the US, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific — many of whom now hold senior program and portfolio leadership roles.

Sanjeev has built a following of 6,000+ professionals across his mentoring cohorts, and a public presence of 1M+ YouTube views and 10,000+ LinkedIn followers, while continuing to personally lead every live cohort himself rather than handing training off to other instructors.

  • 6,000+Mentoring community
  • 1M+YouTube views
  • 10,000+LinkedIn followers
What makes his mentoring approach different
  • Built on a 4-step mentoring framework — assess where a candidate stands, teach the program management domains in depth, guide them through a PMI-ready application, and simulate the real exam experience before test day.
  • Holds both PMI and global program/portfolio credentials, so the training reflects more than a single certification body's syllabus.
  • Teaches from real case studies, not a generic slide deck — governance, stakeholder engagement, and benefits management are explained the way they actually show up inside a program.
  • Stays personally involved, including reviewing student applications individually and, in at least one documented case, reviewing a student's manuscript on program management after training had ended.
Real Results

What certified program managers say about working with Sanjeev

Augment Consultancy's PgMP and PfMP alumni now hold roles at organizations including Deutsche Bank, AtkinsRéalis, and Karer Consulting AG, among many others. A representative sample of what past candidates have said, in their own words (shortened and paraphrased — full reviews are on the success stories page and on LinkedIn):

A program manager at Deutsche Bank credited Sanjeev's support and motivation for helping her get through her PgMP certification journey at the right moment.

A program consultant at Karer Consulting AG said the live sessions were what set the program apart, pointing to Sanjeev's depth of knowledge and practical insight.

A portfolio controls manager at AtkinsRéalis called Sanjeev's study materials some of the clearest resources for understanding PgMP and PfMP concepts.

One candidate who came to Sanjeev with only a week left before her exam said his mock-exam simulator closely matched the real test, and she passed on her first attempt.

Another candidate who passed with above-target scores across every domain said Sanjeev's coaching was instrumental to that result, in under two months of preparation.

Multiple reviewers specifically called out the individualized application feedback as the difference between submitting a generic application and one that actually reflected their program experience.

This isn't a handful of hand-picked quotes — the success stories page documents dozens of named, LinkedIn-verified alumni reviews built up over several years, which is a large part of why referrals remain a major source of new candidates.

Choosing a Credential

PgMP vs. PMP: which certification do you actually need?

A common point of confusion for US-based project professionals is whether they need the PMP or the PgMP. The short answer:

PMP

Project Management Professional

Certifies your ability to manage a single project — scope, schedule, budget, and team, from initiation to close.

PgMP

Program Management Professional

Certifies your ability to manage a group of related projects and ongoing work as a coordinated program, delivering strategic benefits that no single project could deliver on its own.

If your role involves overseeing multiple project managers, aligning several related projects to a single business outcome, or managing benefits realization across a portfolio of initiatives, PgMP is the credential that reflects that level of responsibility — and it's recognized by PMI as a more senior, more selective certification than PMP, with a more rigorous application and panel-review process to match.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get PgMP certified through this program?

Most candidates complete the program in 2 to 4 months, following a structured 4-stage mentoring approach. Exact timing depends on individual pace and how much program documentation a candidate already has ready to draw on for their application.

What training formats are available?

Three: a Live-Online Mentoring Program with instructor-led sessions and recorded access; Self-Paced Learning with exam-prep mentorship for independent study at a lower cost; and a Personal Mentoring Program offering fully individualized, one-on-one coaching on a flexible schedule.

What if I miss a live session?

Every session is recorded and available within a few hours on the learning platform. Each new session also opens with a 10–15 minute recap of the previous one, so missing a class doesn't mean falling behind.

Are course materials provided before the live sessions start?

Yes — comprehensive training materials, assignments, case studies, and the exam simulator are all made available in advance, so candidates can prepare ahead of each live session rather than encountering material cold.

Does the program help with the PgMP application, or just the exam?

Both. Application support is a core, dedicated part of the program — including program summary guidelines, domain summary writing, real application samples, and a walkthrough of entering your application directly into the PMI portal. Application review is included individually, not as a generic template.

What happens if I can't attend after I've already enrolled?

Candidates who can't attend a cohort after enrolling can join a future batch at no additional cost. Cancellations made at least two weeks before the training start date may also be eligible for a refund under Augment Consultancy's cancellation and refund policy.

Are there networking opportunities with other certified program managers?

Yes. The program includes access to an exclusive alumni community, live Q&A sessions and webinars, and ongoing mentor and peer support — useful for staying current on program management practice well after certification.

What's the difference between PgMP and PfMP, and does Augment Consultancy train for both?

PgMP certifies program management — leading a group of related projects to deliver strategic benefits. PfMP certifies portfolio management — selecting and prioritizing the right mix of programs and projects at an organizational level. Augment Consultancy runs mentor-led certification training for both, and Sanjeev personally holds both credentials.

What is the program's success rate?

Augment Consultancy reports a 98% first-attempt pass rate among candidates who complete the full Fast-Track Program, based on outcomes across 100+ programs conducted and 1,000+ professionals trained.

Are there group rates for teams or PMOs?

Yes — groups of 3 or more participants qualify for discounts of up to 20% off course fees. Contact Augment Consultancy directly for a custom quote.

Will this program work for candidates in US time zones?

Live sessions are scheduled in weekend blocks designed to be accessible across time zones, and the program has trained candidates from major US and Canadian employers across finance, consulting, and engineering sectors. All sessions are also recorded, so a time-zone mismatch on a given weekend doesn't mean missing the content.

Ready When You Are

Your PgMP application is a case you have to make to PMI's panel. Make sure someone who's done the job reviews it first.

Most candidates who pass on their first attempt have one thing in common: someone with real program management experience reviewed their application and their thinking before the exam did. That's the difference between working through a video library alone and training with a mentor who's still personally involved when it matters most.
